This web-site is all about a very special horse called OLLIE, who has been bred for (hopefully) a successful career in racing.
OLLIE was born on 22 May 2009, just after midnight, to the famous racing mare Material
World, affectionately known as Daisy, out of the equally famous stallion Kayf Tara
– more about Ollie and his illustrious parents in the Biography section.
Months on,
OLLIE has developed from a vulnerable young colt into a strapping juvenile. He has
such a gentle, laid-back nature and exceptional temperament which endears him to
everyone, just like his mother Daisy.
Material World Racing Club.
OLLIE’s development has been closely watched, and endlessly photographed, by his
admiring owners – a syndicate of 16 dedicated equine enthusiasts known as the Material
World Racing Club.
The MWRC was set up before OLLIE was born by Robin Smith, previously
the co-owner and now the sole owner of Material World. The MWRC is not just a platform
for ownership – it is also a social group, whose members and their partners meet
up for visits to Overbury Stud (where both Material World and Ollie are presently
based), horse-race meetings, lunches, and other activities.
MWRC is also an international
group, with members based in the Channel Islands, Ireland, Wales, Scotland and Switzerland,
as well as England.

Material World is the racing name for the mother of Ollie and otherwise known as ‘Daisy’. Famous for her courage and stamina as a winner of races she had a strong following amongst race goers not least because of only having one eye! You can read more about Daisy on her own web site
